The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day should honor his guest. His special hospitality is for one day and one night, and general hospitality extends for three days. Anything beyond that is charity. It is not permissible for a guest to stay so long with his host that he causes him hardship."Ismail narrated to us, saying, Malik narrated to me the like of it, and added, "Whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day should speak good or remain silent."
حدثنا عبد الله بن يوسف أخبرنا مالك عن سعيد بن أبي سعيد المقبري
أن رسول الله ﷺ قال من كان يؤمن بالله واليوم الآخر فليكرم ضيفه جائزته يوم وليلة والضيافة ثلاثة أيام فما بعد ذلك فهو صدقة ولا يحل له أن يثوي عنده حتى يحرجه حدثنا إسماعيل قال حدثني مالك مثله وزاد من كان يؤمن بالله واليوم الآخر فليقل خيرا أو ليصمت
