Some embroidered silk cloaks fastened with golden buttons were presented as a gift to the Prophet ﷺ. He distributed them among some of his companions and set one aside for Makhrama. When Makhrama came, the Prophet ﷺ said, "I have kept this one for you."Ayub indicated with his own garment, showing how the Prophet ﷺ displayed the cloak to him. Makhrama had something difficult in his temperament.Hammad bin Zayd narrated this from Ayub.Hatim bin Wardan said, Ayub narrated to us from Ibn Abu Mulayka, from Miswar, "Some cloaks were brought to the Prophet ﷺ."
حدثنا عبد الله بن عبد الوهاب أخبرنا ابن علية أخبرنا أيوب
أن النبي ﷺ أهديت له أقبية من ديباج مزررة بالذهب فقسمها في ناس من أصحابه وعزل منها واحدا لمخرمة فلما جاء قال قد خبأت هذا لك قال أيوب بثوبه وأنه يريه إياه وكان في خلقه شيء رواه حماد بن زيد عن أيوب وقال حاتم بن وردان حدثنا أيوب عن ابن أبي مليكة عن المسور قدمت على النبي ﷺ أقبية
