While the Prophet ﷺ was praying, he noticed some phlegm on the wall of the mosque facing the qiblah. He scraped it off with his hand, visibly angered. Then he said, "When any of you is in prayer, Allah is directly before his face. So let none of you spit in front of himself during prayer."
حدثنا موسى بن إسماعيل حدثنا جويرية عن نافع
بينا النبي ﷺ يصلي رأى في قبلة المسجد نخامة فحكها بيده فتغيظ ثم قال إن أحدكم إذا كان في الصلاة فإن الله حيال وجهه فلا يتنخمن حيال وجهه في الصلاة
