A man from among the companions of the Prophet ﷺ reported that two men exchanged insults in the presence of the Prophet ﷺ. One of them grew angry, and his anger intensified until his face swelled and changed color.The Prophet ﷺ said, "I know a word which, if he said it, what he is feeling would leave him. Let him seek refuge with Allah from Satan."The man went to him and told him what the Prophet ﷺ had said, saying, "Seek refuge with Allah from Satan."He replied, "Do you think there is something wrong with me? Am I insane? Go away."
حدثنا عمر بن حفص حدثنا أبي حدثنا الأعمش قال حدثني عدي بن ثابت قال سمعت
رجلا من أصحاب النبي ﷺ قال استب رجلان عند النبي ﷺ فغضب أحدهما فاشتد غضبه حتى انتفخ وجهه وتغير فقال النبي ﷺ إني لأعلم كلمة لو قالها لذهب عنه الذي يجد فانطلق إليه الرجل فأخبره بقول النبي ﷺ وقال تعوذ بالله من الشيطان فقال أترى بي بأس أمجنون أنا اذهب
