My mother came to me during the time of the Prophet ﷺ, hoping to receive something from me. I asked the Prophet ﷺ, "Should I maintain ties with her?"He replied, "Yes."Ibn Uyayna said, "It was concerning her that Allah Almighty revealed, 'Allah does not forbid you from those who have not fought you because of your religion'" [Mumtahanah 60:8].
