Ayesha reported,

By the One who took him, he did not abandon those two until he met Allah, and he did not meet Allah Almighty until he had grown too heavy to stand in prayer, performing much of his prayer while seated. She meant the two rak'ahs after Asr. The Prophet ﷺ used to pray them, but he would not pray them in the mosque, fearing it would become a burden on his community, for he loved whatever made things easier for them.
