Ayesha reported that whenever the Messenger of Allah ﷺ went to his bed, he would blow lightly into his hands while reciting "Say, He is Allah, the One" and the two surahs of refuge, then wipe his hands over his face and whatever parts of his body they could reach.Ayesha continued, "When he fell ill, he would instruct me to do that for him."Yunus said, "I used to see Ibn Shihab do this whenever he went to his bed."

كان رسول الله ﷺ إذا أوى إلى فراشه نفث في كفيه بقل هو الله أحد وبالمعوذتين جميعا ثم يمسح بهما وجهه وما بلغت يداه من جسده قالت عائشة فلما اشتكى كان يأمرني أن أفعل ذلك به قال يونس كنت أرى ابن شهاب يصنع ذلك إذا أتى إلى فراشه
