When the helmet was shattered on the head of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, his face was bloodied and his front tooth was broken. Ali kept fetching water in his shield, and Fatimah came to wash the blood from his face. When Fatimah, peace be upon her, saw that the blood was only increasing as more water was poured, she took a piece of mat, burned it, and pressed its ashes onto the wound of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and the bleeding stopped.
حدثني سعيد بن عفير حدثنا يعقوب بن عبد الرحمن القاري عن أبي حازم
لما كسرت على رأس رسول الله ﷺ البيضة وأدمي وجهه وكسرت رباعيته وكان علي يختلف بالماء في المجن وجاءت فاطمة تغسل عن وجهه الدم فلما رأت فاطمة عليها السلام الدم يزيد على الماء كثرة عمدت إلى حصير فأحرقتها وألصقتها على جرح رسول الله ﷺ فرقأ الدم
