Some people fell ill in Madinah due to its climate, so the Prophet ﷺ instructed them to join his shepherd, meaning the one tending the camels, and to drink from the camels' milk and urine. They went to the shepherd and drank from the milk and urine until their bodies recovered. Then they killed the shepherd and drove off the camels.When news of this reached the Prophet ﷺ, he sent men in pursuit of them. They were brought back, and he had their hands and feet cut off and their eyes branded.Qatada said, Muhammad bin Sirin told me that this happened before the prescribed punishments were revealed.
حدثنا موسى بن إسماعيل حدثنا همام عن قتادة
أن ناسا اجتووا في المدينة فأمرهم النبي ﷺ أن يلحقوا براعيه يعني الإبل فيشربوا من ألبانها وأبوالها فلحقوا براعيه فشربوا من ألبانها وأبوالها حتى صلحت أبدانهم فقتلوا الراعي وساقوا الإبل فبلغ النبي ﷺ فبعث في طلبهم فجيء بهم فقطع أيديهم وأرجلهم وسمر أعينهم قال قتادة فحدثني محمد بن سيرين أن ذلك كان قبل أن تنزل الحدود
