My companions and I, who had arrived with me on the ship, were staying at Baqi Buthan while the Prophet ﷺ was in Medina. A group of them used to take turns being with the Prophet ﷺ at the time of the evening prayer each night. My companions and I came to the Prophet ﷺ at a time when he was occupied with some matter of his, so he delayed the prayer until the night was well advanced. Then the Prophet ﷺ came out and led them in prayer.When he had finished his prayer, he said to those present, "Take your time. Receive glad tidings. It is among Allah's blessings upon you that no one among the people is praying at this hour except you," or he said, "No one has prayed at this hour except you." The narrator was not sure which of the two phrases he used.Abu Musa said, "So we returned, rejoicing at what we had heard from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ."
حدثنا محمد بن العلاء قال أخبرنا أبو أسامة عن بريد عن أبي بردة
كنت أنا وأصحابي الذين قدموا معي في السفينة نزولا في بقيع بطحان والنبي ﷺ بالمدينة فكان يتناوب النبي ﷺ عند صلاة العشاء كل ليلة نفر منهم فوافقنا النبي ﷺ أنا وأصحابي وله بعض الشغل في بعض أمره فأعتم بالصلاة حتى ابهار الليل ثم خرج النبي ﷺ فصلى بهم فلما قضى صلاته قال لمن حضره على رسلكم أبشروا إن من نعمة الله عليكم أنه ليس أحد من الناس يصلي هذه الساعة غيركم أو قال ما صلى هذه الساعة أحد غيركم لا يدري أي الكلمتين قال قال أبو موسى فرجعنا ففرحنا بما سمعنا من رسول الله ﷺ
