Adi bin Hatim reported,

I asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about hunting with a featherless arrow. He said, "If you strike the game with its sharp edge, then eat it. But if it strikes with its blunt side and kills the animal, then it is considered as something beaten to death, so do not eat it."I said, "I send my dog after game."He said, "If you send your dog and mention the name of Allah, then eat what it catches."I asked, "What if the dog has eaten from it?"He replied, "Then do not eat it, for it did not catch it for you. It only caught it for itself."I said, "I send my dog and find another dog with it."He said, "Do not eat from it, for you mentioned the name of Allah only over your own dog, not over the other one."
