There was a man from the Ansar known by the kunya Abu Shuayb, and he had a servant who was a butcher. He came to the Prophet ﷺ while he was sitting among his companions, and he noticed signs of hunger on the Prophet's face.He went to his butcher servant and said, "Prepare me a meal enough for five, for I want to invite the Prophet ﷺ as the fifth of five."So the servant prepared a small meal for him, then he came to the Prophet ﷺ and invited him. A man followed them along the way.The Prophet ﷺ said, "Abu Shuayb, a man has followed us. If you wish, you may permit him to join, and if you wish, you may turn him away."Abu Shuayb replied, "No, I permit him to join."

كان رجل من الأنصار يكنى أبا شعيب وكان له غلام لحام فأتى النبي ﷺ وهو في أصحابه فعرف الجوع في وجه النبي ﷺ فذهب إلى غلامه اللحام فقال اصنع لي طعاما يكفي خمسة لعلي أدعو النبي ﷺ خامس خمسة فصنع له طعيما ثم أتاه فدعاه فتبعهم رجل فقال النبي ﷺ يا أبا شعيب إن رجلا تبعنا فإن شئت أذنت له وإن شئت تركته قال لا بل أذنت له
