The Prophet ﷺ used to pray Fajr at a time when each of us could recognize the person sitting next to him, and he would recite between sixty and a hundred verses in it. He would pray Zuhr when the sun had passed its zenith, and Asr at a time when one of us could go to the farthest part of Madinah and return while the sun was still bright. I have forgotten what he said about Maghrib. He did not mind delaying Isha until a third of the night had passed. Then he said, until half the night.Muaz said that Shuba said, I met him on another occasion and he said, "Or until a third of the night."
حدثنا حفص بن عمر قال حدثنا شعبة حدثنا أبو المنهال
كان النبي ﷺ يصلي الصبح وأحدنا يعرف جليسه ويقرأ فيها ما بين الستين إلى المائة ويصلي الظهر إذا زالت الشمس والعصر وأحدنا يذهب إلى أقصى المدينة رجع والشمس حية ونسيت ما قال في المغرب ولا يبالي بتأخير العشاء إلى ثلث الليل ثم قال إلى شطر الليل وقال معاذ قال شعبة لقيته مرة فقال أو ثلث الليل
