The matter of liaan was mentioned in the presence of the Prophet ﷺ, and Asim bin Adi made a statement about it, then he left. A man from his people came to him complaining that he had found another man with his wife.Asim said, "I have only been tested with this matter because of what I said."He took the man to the Prophet ﷺ, and the man informed him about the condition in which he had found his wife. This husband was yellowish in complexion, slight in build, with straight hair, while the man he accused of being with his wife was stout, dark-skinned, and fleshy.The Prophet ﷺ said, "O Allah, make it clear."She gave birth to a child resembling the man whom her husband said he had found with her, so the Prophet ﷺ performed liaan between the two of them.A man in the gathering said to Ibn Abbas, "Was she the one about whom the Prophet ﷺ said, 'If I were to stone anyone without evidence, I would have stoned this woman'?"Ibn Abbas replied, "No, that was a different woman, one who used to display indecency openly while professing Islam."Abu Salih and Abdullah bin Yusuf said, "Adam khadlan."
حدثنا سعيد بن عفير قال حدثني الليث عن يحيى بن سعيد عن عبد الرحمن بن القاسم عن القاسم بن محمد
أنه ذكر التلاعن عند النبي ﷺ فقال عاصم بن عدي في ذلك قولا ثم انصرف فأتاه رجل من قومه يشكو إليه أنه قد وجد مع امرأته رجلا فقال عاصم ما ابتليت بهذا الأمر إلا لقولي فذهب به إلى النبي ﷺ فأخبره بالذي وجد عليه امرأته وكان ذلك الرجل مصفرا قليل اللحم سبط الشعر وكان الذي ادعى عليه أنه وجده عند أهله خدلا آدم كثير اللحم فقال النبي ﷺ اللهم بين فجاءت شبيها بالرجل الذي ذكر زوجها أنه وجده فلاعن النبي ﷺ بينهما قال رجل لابن عباس في المجلس هي التي قال النبي ﷺ لو رجمت أحدا بغير بينة رجمت هذه فقال لا تلك امرأة كانت تظهر في الإسلام السوء قال أبو صالح وعبد الله بن يوسف آدم خدلا
