Urwa bin Zubayr reported,

Ayesha commented on the verse "They ask you for a ruling concerning women. Say, Allah gives you a ruling concerning them" [Nisa 4:127], to the end of the verse. She said, "This refers to the orphan girl who is under a man's care and shares in his property. He has no desire to marry her himself, yet he dislikes the thought of marrying her to someone else, who would then come to share in his property. So he keeps her from marrying. Allah forbade them from doing this."

عن عائشة رضي الله عنها في قوله {ويستفتونك في النساء قل الله يفتيكم فيهن} إلى آخر الآية قالت هي اليتيمة تكون في حجر الرجل قد شركته في ماله فيرغب عنها أن يتزوجها ويكره أن يزوجها غيره فيدخل عليه في ماله فيحبسها فنهاهم الله عن ذلك
