I never knew my parents to follow anything other than this religion, and not a day passed without the Messenger of Allah ﷺ coming to us at both ends of the day, in the morning and in the evening.Then it occurred to Abu Bakr to build a mosque in the courtyard of his house, where he would pray and recite the Quran. The wives and children of the polytheists would gather around him, marveling at him and gazing at him. Abu Bakr was a man easily moved to tears, unable to hold them back whenever he recited the Quran. This alarmed the noble men of Quraysh among the polytheists.
حدثنا يحيى بن بكير قال حدثنا الليث عن عقيل عن ابن شهاب قال أخبرني عروة بن الزبير أن
لم أعقل أبوي إلا وهما يدينان الدين ولم يمر علينا يوم إلا يأتينا فيه رسول الله ﷺ طرفي النهار بكرة وعشية ثم بدا لأبي بكر فابتنى مسجدا بفناء داره فكان يصلي فيه ويقرأ القرآن فيقف عليه نساء المشركين وأبناؤهم يعجبون منه وينظرون إليه وكان أبو بكر رجلا بكاء لا يملك عينيه إذا قرأ القرآن فأفزع ذلك أشراف قريش من المشركين
