Ibn Umar came out to us, and a man asked, "What is your view on fighting in times of civil strife?"Ibn Umar replied, "Do you even know what fitnah is? Muhammad ﷺ fought the polytheists, and engaging them was a trial. It was nothing like your fighting for the sake of kingship."

خرج علينا أو إلينا ابن عمر فقال رجل كيف ترى في قتال الفتنة فقال وهل تدري ما الفتنة كان محمد ﷺ يقاتل المشركين وكان الدخول عليهم فتنة وليس كقتالكم على الملك
