Ibn Abbas said, regarding "And for everyone We have appointed heirs" [Nisa 4:33], that "heirs" means those who inherit, and concerning "and those with whom you have made a pact" [Nisa 4:33], he explained that when the Emigrants first came to Madinah, an Emigrant would inherit from an Ansari to the exclusion of the Ansari's own blood relatives, because of the brotherhood that the Prophet ﷺ had established between them. Then when "And for everyone We have appointed heirs" [Nisa 4:33] was revealed, it abrogated that arrangement. He then said that "and those with whom you have made a pact" [Nisa 4:33] now refers to support, assistance, and sincere counsel. The inheritance is gone, but a bequest may still be made in his favor.Abu Usama heard this from Idris, and Idris heard it from Talha.
