Wealth used to go entirely to the children, and bequests were made to the parents. Then Allah abrogated of that what He willed. He assigned to the male a share equal to that of two females, and to each of the two parents a sixth or a third, and to the wife an eighth or a fourth, and to the husband a half or a fourth.
