Allah forbid. By Allah, Allah never promised His Messenger anything without his knowing that it would come to pass before he died. But the messengers continued to be tested until they feared that those with them might be denying them. So she used to recite it as "and they thought that they had been disbelieved" [Yusuf 12:110], with the letter shaddah.

معاذ الله والله ما وعد الله رسوله من شيء قط إلا علم أنه كائن قبل أن يموت ولكن لم يزل البلاء بالرسل حتى خافوا أن يكون من معهم يكذبونهم فكانت تقرؤها {وظنوا أنهم قد كذبوا} مثقلة
