The best reciter among us is Ubayy, and the most knowledgeable in judicial rulings among us is Ali. Yet we set aside some of what Ubayy says, because Ubayy says, "I will not abandon anything I heard from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ," even though Allah Almighty has said, "Whatever verse We abrogate or cause to be forgotten" [Baqarah 2:106].
