Aswad reported,

It was mentioned in Ayesha's presence that the Prophet ﷺ had made a will appointing Ali as his successor. She said, "Who said this? I saw the Prophet ﷺ while I was supporting him against my chest. He asked for a basin, then slumped over and died, and I did not even realize it. So how could he have made a will appointing Ali?"
