She informed him that whenever the Messenger of Allah ﷺ fell ill, he would recite the Muawwidhat over himself, blowing lightly, and wipe over himself with his hand. When he was suffering from the illness in which he passed away, I began to recite the Muawwidhat over him, blowing as he used to do, and I would wipe over him using the Prophet's ﷺ own hand.
حدثني حبان أخبرنا عبد الله أخبرنا يونس عن ابن شهاب قال أخبرني عروة أن
أخبرته أن رسول الله ﷺ كان إذا اشتكى نفث على نفسه بالمعوذات ومسح عنه بيده فلما اشتكى وجعه الذي توفي فيه طفقت أنفث على نفسه بالمعوذات التي كان ينفث وأمسح بيد النبي ﷺ عنه
