Abdul-Rahman bin Abu Bakr came in to see the Prophet ﷺ while I was supporting him against my chest. Abdul-Rahman had with him a fresh siwak which he was using to clean his teeth. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ fixed his gaze upon it, so I took the siwak, broke off the end, shook it out, softened it, and handed it to the Prophet ﷺ. He cleaned his teeth with it, and I never saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ clean his teeth more thoroughly than he did then.When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ finished, he raised his hand, or his finger, and said three times, "With the highest companions," then he passed away.She used to say, "He died between my throat and my chin."
حدثنا محمد حدثنا عفان عن صخر بن جويرية عن عبد الرحمن بن القاسم عن أبيه
دخل عبد الرحمن بن أبي بكر على النبي ﷺ وأنا مسندته إلى صدري ومع عبد الرحمن سواك رطب يستن به فأبده رسول الله ﷺ بصره فأخذت السواك فقصمته ونفضته وطيبته ثم دفعته إلى النبي ﷺ فاستن به فما رأيت رسول الله ﷺ استن استنانا قط أحسن منه فما عدا أن فرغ رسول الله ﷺ رفع يده أو إصبعه ثم قال في الرفيق الأعلى ثلاثا ثم قضى وكانت تقول مات بين حاقنتي وذاقنتي
