The delegation of Abdul-Qays came to the Prophet ﷺ and said, "Messenger of Allah, we are this clan of Rabia, and the disbelievers of Mudar stand between us and you, so we cannot reach you except during a sacred month. Instruct us with matters we can act upon and call those we left behind to follow."He replied, "I command you with four things and forbid you from four. Belief in Allah, which is the testimony that there is no god but Allah," and he held up one finger, "establishing the prayer, giving the zakat, and that you hand over to Allah a fifth of whatever spoils you take. And I forbid you from the gourd, the hollowed stump, the green jar, and the pitch-coated vessel."
حدثنا سليمان بن حرب حدثنا حماد بن زيد عن أبي جمرة قال سمعت
قدم وفد عبد القيس على النبي ﷺ فقالوا يا رسول الله إنا هذا الحي من ربيعة وقد حالت بيننا وبينك كفار مضر فلسنا نخلص إليك إلا في شهر حرام فمرنا بأشياء نأخذ بها وندعو إليها من وراءنا قال آمركم بأربع وأنهاكم عن أربع الإيمان بالله شهادة أن لا إله إلا الله وعقد واحدة وإقام الصلاة وإيتاء الزكاة وأن تؤدوا لله خمس ما غنمتم وأنهاكم عن الدباء والنقير والحنتم والمزفت
