The Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent Abban out from Medina at the head of a small expedition heading toward Najd. Abu Hurairah reported that Abban and his companions came to the Prophet ﷺ at Khaybar after it had been conquered, and the girths of their horses were made of palm fiber.Abu Hurairah said, "I said, 'Messenger of Allah, do not assign them a share of the spoils.'"Abban replied, "Are you the one saying this, you little badger come down from the peak of Daan?"The Prophet ﷺ said, "Sit down, Abban." And he did not assign them a share.
ويذكر عن الزبيدي عن الزهري قال أخبرني عنبسة بن سعيد أنه سمع أبا هريرة يخبر
بعث رسول الله ﷺ أبان على سرية من المدينة قبل نجد قال أبو هريرة فقدم أبان وأصحابه على النبي ﷺ بخيبر بعد ما افتتحها وإن حزم خيلهم لليف قال أبو هريرة قلت يا رسول الله لا تقسم لهم قال أبان وأنت بهذا يا وبر تحدر من رأس ضأن فقال النبي ﷺ يا أبان اجلس فلم يقسم لهم
