Bara bin Azib reported,

The Prophet ﷺ was carrying dirt on the Day of the Trench until his belly was covered, or his belly became dust-stained, and he was saying:By Allah, were it not for Allah we would not have been guided, nor given charity, nor prayed. So send tranquility down upon us, and make our feet firm if we meet the enemy. Truly those people have transgressed against us, when they desired discord we refused. And he raised his voice with the words, "We refused, we refused."
