Urwa bin Zubayr reported,

Ayesha commented on the verse "When they came upon you from above you and from below you, and when eyes shifted in fear and hearts reached the throats" [Ahzab 33:10]. She said, "That was on the day of the Trench."

عن عائشة رضي الله عنها {إذ جاءوكم من فوقكم ومن أسفل منكم وإذ زاغت الأبصار وبلغت القلوب الحناجر} قالت كان ذاك يوم الخندق
