It is reported from the Prophet ﷺ that he said, "I saw in my dream that I shook a sword and its blade broke off. That turned out to be the losses suffered by the believers at the Battle of Uhud. Then I shook it again, and it returned better than it had been before. That turned out to be the victory Allah brought and the gathering of the believers. I also saw cattle in the dream, and what Allah brings is good. Those turned out to be the believers killed at Uhud."

أرى عن النبي ﷺ قال رأيت في رؤياي أني هززت سيفا فانقطع صدره فإذا هو ما أصيب من المؤمنين يوم أحد ثم هززته أخرى فعاد أحسن ما كان فإذا هو ما جاء به الله من الفتح واجتماع المؤمنين ورأيت فيها بقرا والله خير فإذا هم المؤمنون يوم أحد
