I lost a verse from Surat al-Ahzab when we were copying the mushaf. I used to hear the Messenger of Allah ﷺ reciting it. We searched for it and found it with Khuzayma bin Thabit al-Ansari, "Among the believers are men who have been true to the covenant they made with Allah. Some of them have fulfilled their vow, and some are still waiting" [Ahzab 33:23]. So we inserted it into its surah in the mushaf.
حدثنا موسى بن إسماعيل حدثنا إبراهيم بن سعد حدثنا ابن شهاب أخبرني خارجة بن زيد بن ثابت أنه سمع
فقدت آية من الأحزاب حين نسخنا المصحف كنت أسمع رسول الله ﷺ يقرأ بها فالتمسناها فوجدناها مع خزيمة بن ثابت الأنصاري {من المؤمنين رجال صدقوا ما عاهدوا الله عليه فمنهم من قضى نحبه ومنهم من ينتظر} فألحقناها في سورتها في المصحف
