The Messenger of Allah ﷺ gave to some people and withheld from others. It seemed those who received nothing were displeased with him, so he said, "I give to certain people because I fear their impatience and lack of forbearance, and I leave others to the goodness and contentment that Allah has placed in their hearts. Among the latter is Amr bin Taghlib."Amr bin Taghlib then said, "I would not exchange the words the Messenger of Allah ﷺ spoke about me for the finest red camels."Abu Asim added, narrating from Jareer, who said, "I heard al-Hasan say, Amr bin Taghlib told us that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was brought some wealth or captives, and he distributed them in this manner."

أعطى رسول الله ﷺ قوما ومنع آخرين فكأنهم عتبوا عليه فقال إني أعطي قوما أخاف ظلعهم وجزعهم وأكل أقواما إلى ما جعل الله في قلوبهم من الخير والغنى منهم عمرو بن تغلب فقال عمرو بن تغلب ما أحب أن لي بكلمة رسول الله ﷺ حمر النعم وزاد أبو عاصم عن جرير قال سمعت الحسن يقول حدثنا عمرو بن تغلب أن رسول الله ﷺ أتي بمال أو بسبي فقسمه بهذا
