Anas bin Malik reported,

The tribes of Ril, Zakwan, Usayya, and Banu Lihyan came to the Prophet ﷺ claiming they had embraced Islam, and they asked him for support against their people. So the Prophet ﷺ sent seventy men from the Ansar to assist them.Anas said, "We used to call them the Reciters. They would gather firewood by day and pray by night."The tribesmen set out with them until they reached the well of Maunah, where they betrayed and killed them. The Prophet ﷺ then performed the qunut for a month, supplicating against Ril, Zakwan, and Banu Lihyan.Qatada said, Anas told us that a Quranic verse was recited concerning them, "Convey to our people on our behalf that we have met our Lord, and He is pleased with us and has pleased us." This verse was later abrogated.
