He informed him that he went on a military expedition with the Prophet ﷺ, and the time for the midday rest overtook them in a valley filled with thorny acacia trees. The people scattered among the trees seeking their shade, and the Prophet ﷺ settled beneath one tree, hung his sword on it, and went to sleep.He awoke to find a man standing beside him whom he had not noticed. The Prophet ﷺ said, "This man drew my sword on me. He asked, 'Who will protect you from me?' I answered, 'Allah.' So he sheathed the sword, and here he is, sitting." Then the Prophet ﷺ did not punish him.
حدثنا أبو اليمان أخبرنا شعيب عن الزهري حدثنا سنان بن أبي سنان وأبو سلمة أن جابرا أخبره ح و حدثنا موسى بن إسماعيل حدثنا إبراهيم بن سعد أخبرنا ابن شهاب عن سنان بن أبي سنان الدؤلي أن
أخبره أنه غزا مع النبي ﷺ فأدركتهم القائلة في واد كثير العضاه فتفرق الناس في العضاه يستظلون بالشجر فنزل النبي ﷺ تحت شجرة فعلق بها سيفه ثم نام فاستيقظ وعنده رجل وهو لا يشعر به فقال النبي ﷺ إن هذا اخترط سيفي فقال من يمنعك قلت الله فشام السيف فها هو ذا جالس ثم لم يعاقبه
