Abu Ishaq reported,

A man asked al-Bara bin Azib , "Did you flee from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on the day of Hunayn?"He replied, "But the Messenger of Allah ﷺ did not flee. The Hawazin were a people skilled in archery. When we met them, we charged at them and they were routed. The Muslims then turned their attention to the spoils, but the enemy met us with their arrows. As for the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, he did not flee. I saw him mounted on his white mule, with Abu Sufyan holding its bridle, and the Prophet ﷺ was saying, 'I am the Prophet, this is no lie. I am the son of Abdul-Muttalib.'"

حدثنا قتيبة حدثنا سهل بن يوسف عن شعبة

عن أبي إسحاق قال

رجل للبراء بن عازب رضي الله عنهما أفررتم عن رسول الله ﷺ يوم حنين قال لكن رسول الله ﷺ لم يفر إن هوازن كانوا قوما رماة وإنا لما لقيناهم حملنا عليهم فانهزموا فأقبل المسلمون على الغنائم واستقبلونا بالسهام فأما رسول الله ﷺ فلم يفر فلقد رأيته وإنه لعلى بغلته البيضاء وإن أبا سفيان آخذ بلجامها والنبي ﷺ يقول أنا النبي لا كذب أنا ابن عبد المطلب
