Bara bin Azib reported,

When the verse "Not equal are those believers who sit at home" [Nisa 4:95] was revealed, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ called Zayd, who came with a shoulder blade bone and wrote it down. Then Ibn Umm Maktum complained about his blindness, so the verse was revealed as "Not equal are those believers who sit at home, other than those who have a disability" [Nisa 4:95].

البراء رضي الله عنه يقول

لما نزلت {لا يستوي القاعدون من المؤمنين} دعا رسول الله ﷺ زيدا فجاء بكتف فكتبها وشكا ابن أم مكتوم ضرارته فنزلت {لا يستوي القاعدون من المؤمنين غير أولي الضرر}

Chapter
Saying of Allah Most High, "Not equal are those believers remaining at home, other than those having a disability, and those who strive in the cause of Allah with their wealth and their lives. Allah has preferred those who strive with their wealth and their lives over those who remain behind, by a degree. And to all Allah has promised the best. But Allah has preferred those who strive over those who remain behind" to His saying, "Forgiving and Merciful"
