Anas bin Malik reported,

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ invoked curses for thirty mornings against those who killed the companions at the well of Maunah, against the tribes of Ril, Zakwan, and Usayyah, who had disobeyed Allah and His Messenger.Anas said, "Concerning those who were killed at the well of Maunah, a passage of Quran was revealed which we used to recite, but it was later abrogated. It read, 'Inform our people on our behalf that we have met our Lord, and He is pleased with us, and we are pleased with Him.'"

Chapter
Virtue of Allah's saying, "And never think of those who have been killed in the cause of Allah as dead. Rather, they are alive with their Lord, receiving provision, rejoicing in what Allah has bestowed upon them of His bounty, and they receive good tidings about those who have not yet joined them from behind them that there will be no fear concerning them, nor will they grieve. They receive good tidings of favor from Allah and bounty, and that Allah does not allow the reward of believers to be lost"
