The Prophet ﷺ said, "A morning or evening journey in the path of Allah is better than the world and everything in it."
حدثنا قبيصة حدثنا سفيان عن أبي حازم
عن النبي ﷺ قال الروحة والغدوة في سبيل الله أفضل من الدنيا وما فيها
Bukhari related the hadith of Abdul-Rahman bin Abdullah bin Dinar, from Abu Hazim, from Sahl, "Standing guard for a day in the path of Allah is better than the world and everything in it." No one but Abdul-Rahman said this, and others are more reliable than him, but the rest of the hadith is sahih.
Hafiz said in the introduction, volume 2, page 122, after mentioning Daraqutni's statement, "I say, Abdul-Rahman bin Abdullah bin Dinar will be discussed in the chapter after this one, and he alone transmitted this addition."Then Hafiz, may Allah have mercy on him, said, "I say, Bukhari relied on him as evidence, as Daraqutni stated, and so did Abu Dawud, Nasai, and Tirmidhi . The mention of the hadith that was deemed problematic among what Bukhari narrated from him
has already been given, being the thirty-ninth in the chapter before this one." End of quote. Take note.Hafiz also said in Taqrib, "Truthful, but he makes mistakes." So it appears that his hadith falls at the level of hasan, and Allah knows best.
