Wealth used to go to the children, and the bequest was for the parents. Then Allah abrogated from that what He willed. He assigned to the male the share of two females, and He assigned to each of the parents one-sixth, and He assigned to the wife one-eighth or one-fourth, and to the husband one-half or one-fourth.
