The Prophet ﷺ said, "Whoever frees his share in a slave, or his portion in a slave, and has enough wealth to cover the slave's fair market value, the slave is fully freed."Nafi said, "Otherwise, only the portion that has been freed is freed."Ayub said, "I do not know whether this last statement is something Nafi said himself or whether it is part of the hadith."
حدثنا أبو النعمان حدثنا حماد بن زيد عن أيوب عن نافع
عن النبي ﷺ قال من أعتق نصيبا له في مملوك أو شركا له في عبد وكان له من المال ما يبلغ قيمته بقيمة العدل فهو عتيق قال نافع وإلا فقد عتق منه ما عتق قال أيوب لا أدري أشيء قاله نافع أو شيء في الحديث
