The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever frees his share in a jointly owned slave is obligated to free the slave entirely, if he has wealth amounting to the slave's price. If he does not have such wealth, the slave is to be valued at a fair price, and the portion he freed is freed."Musaddad narrated to us, Bishr narrated to us, from Ubaydullah, in an abridged form.
حدثنا عبيد بن إسماعيل عن أبي أسامة عن عبيد الله عن نافع
رسول الله ﷺ من أعتق شركا له في مملوك فعليه عتقه كله إن كان له مال يبلغ ثمنه فإن لم يكن له مال يقوم عليه قيمة عدل فأعتق منه ما أعتق حدثنا مسدد حدثنا بشر عن عبيد الله اختصره
