A man from the Ansar named Abu Shuayb had a slave who was a butcher. Abu Shuayb said to him, "Prepare food enough for five, for I want to invite the Prophet ﷺ as one of five." He had noticed signs of hunger on the Prophet's face, so he invited him. A man followed them who had not been invited.The Prophet ﷺ said, "This man has followed us. Will you permit him to join?"He replied, "Yes."
حدثنا أبو النعمان حدثنا أبو عوانة عن الأعمش عن أبي وائل
أن رجلا من الأنصار يقال له أبو شعيب كان له غلام لحام فقال له أبو شعيب اصنع لي طعام خمسة لعلي أدعو النبي ﷺ خامس خمسة وأبصر في وجه النبي ﷺ الجوع فدعاه فتبعهم رجل لم يدع فقال النبي ﷺ إن هذا قد اتبعنا أتأذن له قال نعم
