Jabala reported,

We were in Medina among some people from Iraq when a year of drought struck us. Ibn Zubayr used to provide us with dates as our ration. Ibn Umar would pass by us and say, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade taking two dates at a time unless one of you first asks permission from his companion."

كنا بالمدينة في بعض أهل العراق فأصابنا سنة فكان ابن الزبير يرزقنا التمر فكان ابن عمر رضي الله عنهما يمر بنا فيقول إن رسول الله ﷺ نهى عن الإقران إلا أن يستأذن الرجل منكم أخاه
