I heard a man recite a verse differently from how I had heard the Prophet ﷺ recite it. So I took him by the hand and brought him to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, who said, "Both of you are doing well."Shuba said, "I think he said, 'Do not differ, for those before you differed and perished.'"
حدثنا أبو الوليد حدثنا شعبة قال عبد الملك بن ميسرة أخبرني قال سمعت النزال بن سبرة قال سمعت
سمعت رجلا قرأ آية سمعت من النبي ﷺ خلافها فأخذت بيده فأتيت به رسول الله ﷺ فقال كلاكما محسن قال شعبة أظنه قال لا تختلفوا فإن من كان قبلكم اختلفوا فهلكوا
