He heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "Each of you is a shepherd, and each of you is responsible for his flock. The ruler is a shepherd and is responsible for his flock. A man is a shepherd over his household and is responsible for his flock. A woman is a shepherdess in her husband's home and is responsible for her flock. A servant is a shepherd over his master's property and is responsible for his flock."The narrator said, "I heard these from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and I believe the Prophet ﷺ also said, 'A man is a shepherd over his father's property and is responsible for his flock. So each of you is a shepherd, and each of you is responsible for his flock.'"
حدثنا أبو اليمان أخبرنا شعيب عن الزهري قال أخبرني سالم بن عبد الله
أنه سمع رسول الله ﷺ يقول كلكم راع ومسئول عن رعيته فالإمام راع وهو مسئول عن رعيته والرجل في أهله راع وهو مسئول عن رعيته والمرأة في بيت زوجها راعية وهي مسئولة عن رعيتها والخادم في مال سيده راع وهو مسئول عن رعيته قال فسمعت هؤلاء من رسول الله ﷺ وأحسب النبي ﷺ قال والرجل في مال أبيه راع وهو مسئول عن رعيته فكلكم راع وكلكم مسئول عن رعيته
