I had a she-camel that came to me as my share from the spoils of war, and the Prophet ﷺ had given me another she-camel from the fifth set aside for him. When I wanted to consummate my marriage with Fatimah, daughter of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, I arranged with a goldsmith from Banu Qaynuqa to travel with me so we could fetch idhkhir grass, which I planned to sell to the goldsmiths and use the proceeds to help fund my wedding feast.
حدثنا عبدان أخبرنا عبد الله أخبرنا يونس عن ابن شهاب قال أخبرني علي بن حسين أن حسين بن علي رضي الله عنهما أخبره أن
كانت لي شارف من نصيبي من المغنم وكان النبي ﷺ أعطاني شارفا من الخمس فلما أردت أن أبتني بفاطمة بنت رسول الله ﷺ واعدت رجلا صواغا من بني قينقاع أن يرتحل معي فنأتي بإذخر أردت أن أبيعه من الصواغين وأستعين به في وليمة عرسي
