Abu Shihab reported,

I came to Mecca performing tamattu, entering with an umrah three days before the Day of Tarwiyah. Some people from Mecca said to me, "Your hajj will now become a Meccan one." So I went to Ata to seek his ruling.He said, Jabir bin Abdullah told me that he performed hajj with the Prophet ﷺ on the day he drove the sacrificial animals along with him, while the people had entered ihram intending hajj alone. The Prophet said to them, "Exit your ihram by performing tawaf around the House and going between Safa and Marwa, then trim your hair and remain in a non-consecrated state until the Day of Tarwiyah, then enter ihram for hajj. Make what you originally came with into a tamattu pilgrimage."They said, "How can we make it a tamattu when we have already declared it as hajj?"He replied, "Do as I have commanded you. Had I not driven the sacrificial animal with me, I would have done the same as I have ordered you to do, but I cannot exit my ihram until the sacrificial animal reaches its place of slaughter." So they did as he instructed.Abu Abdullah said, Abu Shihab has no narration with a connected chain except this one.

حدثنا أبو نعيم حدثنا

أبو شهاب قال

قدمت متمتعا مكة بعمرة فدخلنا قبل التروية بثلاثة أيام فقال لي أناس من أهل مكة تصير الآن حجتك مكية فدخلت على عطاء أستفتيه فقال حدثني جابر بن عبد الله رضي الله عنهما أنه حج مع النبي ﷺ يوم ساق البدن معه وقد أهلوا بالحج مفردا فقال لهم أحلوا من إحرامكم بطواف البيت وبين الصفا والمروة وقصروا ثم أقيموا حلالا حتى إذا كان يوم التروية فأهلوا بالحج واجعلوا التي قدمتم بها متعة فقالوا كيف نجعلها متعة وقد سمينا الحج فقال افعلوا ما أمرتكم فلولا أني سقت الهدي لفعلت مثل الذي أمرتكم ولكن لا يحل مني حرام حتى يبلغ الهدي محله ففعلوا قال أبو عبد الله أبو شهاب ليس له مسند إلا هذا
