Tirmidhi (3713), Ahmad in Fadail al-Sahabah (959), and Tabarani in al-Kabir (3/199) all narrated it through the route of Muhammad bin Jafar, who said, Shuba narrated to us, from Salama bin Kuhayl, who said, I heard Abu Tufayl narrating from Abu Sarihah (whose name was Huzaifa bin Usayd) or Zayd bin Arqam, and he mentioned it. Its chain is sahih. The uncertainty in identifying the companion does not cause harm, and the one who was uncertain was Shuba. The more likely view is that it belongs to the narration of Zayd bin Arqam, as has come through other routes from Abu Tufayl from Zayd bin Arqam without the uncertainty.
