Ayesha reported,

Uthman reported that Abu Bakr sought permission to enter upon the Messenger of Allah ﷺ while he was lying on his bed wearing Ayesha's wrap. The Prophet ﷺ gave Abu Bakr permission to enter while he remained in that state, and Abu Bakr presented his need to him and then left. Then Umar sought permission, and the Prophet ﷺ permitted him to enter while still in the same state, and Umar presented his need to him and then left.Uthman said, "Then I sought permission to enter, and he sat up and said to Ayesha, 'Gather your clothes around you.' So I presented my need to him and then left."Ayesha said, "Messenger of Allah, why is it that I did not see you become concerned for Abu Bakr and Umar, may Allah be pleased with them, as you became concerned for Uthman?"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ replied, "Uthman is a modest man, and I feared that if I gave him permission to enter while I was in that state, he would not be able to convey his need to me."
