The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever drags his garment out of arrogance, Allah will not look at him on the Day of Resurrection."Abu Bakr said, "One side of my garment slips down unless I keep adjusting it."The Messenger of Allah ﷺ replied, "You do not do that out of arrogance."Musa said, I asked Salim, "Did Abdullah mention 'whoever drags his lower garment'?"He answered, "I only heard him mention 'his garment.'"
Bukhari narrated it in the Merits of the Companions (3665), and Muslim in Clothing (2085-44), both through Salim bin Abdullah, from Abdullah bin Umar who said, so he mentioned it. This is the wording of Bukhari, while Muslim's version is abridged and does not contain the story of Abu Bakr Siddiq.
