We set out with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on one of his journeys. The story includes the loss of Ayesha's necklace, the people remaining without water or means of ablution because of it, and Abu Bakr rebuking Ayesha and poking her. Then Allah revealed the verse of tayammum, and they performed tayammum.Usayd bin Hudayr said, "This is not the first blessing you have brought, family of Abu Bakr."Ayesha said, "Then we got up the camel I had been riding, and we found the necklace beneath it."
خرجنا مع رسول الله ﷺ في بعض أسفاره… وفيه قصة ضياع عقد لعائشة وبقاء الناس من أجله بدون ماء ولا وضوء، وتوبيخ أبي بكر لعائشة وطعنه إياها، فأنزل الله آية التيمم، فتيمموا، فقال أسيد بن حضير: ما هي بأول بركتكم يا آل أبي بكر، قالت: فبعثنا البعير الذي كنت عليه فأصبنا العقد تحته.
Malik narrated it in Kitab al-Tahara (120) from Abdul-Rahman bin Qasim, from his father, from Ayesha, and he related it. Bukhari narrated it in Fadail al-Sahabah (3672) and Muslim in al-Tahara (367-108), both of them by way of Malik with the same chain.
